Rumor: Disney is in talks with Netflix for 3 live-action Star Wars series

Star Wars Netflix Banner

Take this with a grain of salt, but sources tell Cinelinx that Disney is in talks to join forces with Netflix for three different live-action Star Wars series. Although a couple of years ago it was looking like a live-action series might air on ABC, at the time, Disney and LucasFilm were still trying to nail down the schedules for their upcoming films. But now that they've figured things out, they are exploring their television options, and may want a deal similar to the one Marvel has with their Netflix shows.

While this is only a rumor, since Disney already has a solid working relationship with Netflix (the final season of Clone Wars was released on the streaming service), many believe it could be legit. Cinelinx doesn't have any additional details on the possible series, like what shows they are considering, but the site's best guess is one of them could air as early as 2017.

Do you think three live-action Star Wars shows is too many? And what would you like to see be the storylines for the series?

Even if this rumor isn't true, there's still going to be a lot of Star Wars coming our way in the years to come, starting with STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS on December 18, 2015.
