Does Universal Pictures have the technology to make Mark Wahlberg better, faster and stronger? Sources have told The Tracking Board Wahlberg will star in the studios' big screen version of the 1970s television series The Six Million Dollar Man. The site is also reporting Mark Wahlberg's LONE SURVIVOR director Peter Berg and Harvey Weinstein are attached to produce the project, and Berg might direct the film as well.

The original TV series ran for five series on ABC and turned star Lee Majors into a pop culture icon. The series followed Steve Austin, an astronaut whose body is rebuilt with bionic implants after being severely injured from an aircraft crash. On the show Austin used his different enhanced abilities from the implants to work as a secret agent for the Office of Scientific Intelligence.

Universal has tried to bring The Six Million Dollar Man to the big screen a few times, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are interested in Mark Wahlberg for the project. We'll have to wait and see if there's any truth to this rumor, but how would do you feel about Mark Wahlberg starring in a movie version of The Six Million Dollar Man?
