Rumor: Viggo Mortensen has been offered the villain role in Bourne 5

Director Paul Greengrass might be looking at one hell of an actor to play the villain in the next BOURNE movie. The Wrap's Jeff Sneider has heard that Viggo Mortensen has been offered the bad guy role in BOURNE 5. This comes on the heels of last week's news that Julia Stiles will back back as Nicky Parsons in the fifth installment in the franchise, and EX MACHINA actress Alicia Vikander may be in talks for a lead role in the film

But just because Mortensen has been offered the role doesn't mean he will definitely take it. Remember, he auditioned for Quentin Tarantino's THE HATEFUL EIGHT, but had to turn it down due to schedule conflicts, and he's pretty picky when it comes to choosing roles. There's also a chance the actor isn't even interested in the project, but he would be absolutely fantastic as the film's villain, so I hope he is at least considering the part. Do you think BOURNE 5 will be able to land Vijo Morganstein, or is this just a b.s. rumor?

BOURNE 5 is set to hit theaters on July 16, 2016, and Viggo Mortensen can be seen next in Matt Ross' CAPTAIN FANTASTIC, which should be released sometime this year.
