Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans bond over mobile phones & asses

Super Bowl LIV is just days away with the Kansas City Chiefs set to face off against the San Francisco 49ers, and as we know, the big game is also an excuse to roll out the biggest commercials of the year, but those commercials also carry quite the hefty price tag, as a 30-second spot will run you $5.6 million this year. Yep, million.

Naturally, most of us could imagine a much better use for that kind of cash, and Ryan Reynolds has decided to use the money he could have spent on a Super Bowl spot to his advantage. The actor purchased an ownership stake in cell service provider Mint Mobile last year, and recently ran an ad in the New York Times which stated that Mint Mobile will give you 3 free months of service if you sign up during the Super Bowl. "On Sunday, some companies will spend over $5 million to advertise in a game so expensive I can’t even mention its name lest we summon an army of lawyers," reads Reynolds' ad. "As the new owner of Mint Mobile, that’s a HARD no. Mint offers premium wireless service for just $15 dollars a month, so we could literally give away 300,000 months of free service and still save money. And that’s exactly what we’re going to do." Reynolds shared the ad on Twitter, and none other than America's ass, Chris Evans, retweeted it, prompting a humorous response from Reynolds.

These two really need to appear in a project together; North America's Asses. Mint Mobile is far from Ryan Reynolds' first step outside the world of acting, as he's also brought his own unique brand of marketing to Aviation Gin. Ryan Reynolds will next be seen in FREE GUY, which will hit theaters on July 3, 2020, and Chris Evans was recently seen in Rian Johnson's star-studded KNIVES OUT.
