Ryan Reynolds & Jake Gyllenhaal contend with alien life in this Life trailer

Six astronauts aboard the space station study a sample collected from Mars that could provide evidence for extraterrestrial life on the Red Planet. The crew determines that the sample contains a large, single-celled organism – the first example of life beyond Earth. As the crew begins to conduct research, and their methods end up having unintended consequences, the life form proves more intelligent, and more dangerous, than anyone ever expected. Get a glimpse of the organism in action with the second trailer for LIFE!

I'm usually down for any sci-fi thriller, but this is a flick we've seen next to nothing on, and it already comes out next month. Couple that with what looks like a watered down version of ALIEN, and I'm not quite sure how this one will turn out. I do like the actors involved, so I'm hoping this one will serve as more "closed-room drama" than "pseudo-ALIEN ripoff", but I'm not holding my breath.

LIFE opens in theaters on March 24, 2017.
