Sadie Sink joins R.L. Stine’s Fear Street trilogy

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

One of the top flicks I'm looking forward to is the upcoming three-film adaptation of GOOSEBUMPS author R.L. Stine's FEAR STREET. We already let you guys know that the movies have snagged most of their teen cast with Olivia Welch and Kiana Madeira leading the charge that includes Ashley Zukerman, Fred Hechinger, Julie Rehwald and Jeremy Ford. And today we have word that Sadie Sink (STRANGER THINGS) has signed on as well.

At this time, Sink is only set to star in the second installment while Madeira and Welch be playing two different characters, one in the mid-’90s, and one in the 1600s, and will appear in all three films. Sink can be seen next in Ciarán Foy's ELI starring Max Martini, Kelly Reilly, and Lili Taylor

Here's a quick plot synopsis for the three films:

FEAR STREET Movie #1:

In 1994, in the aftermath of a brutal tragedy in Shadyside, Ohio, a group of teens discovers that a series of horrifying events that have plagued their town over many years might not be random and that they may be the next victims.

FEAR STREET Movie #2:

In 1978, Camp Nightwing is divided by the campers and counselors who hail from the of prosperous town of Sunnyvale and the campers and maintenance staffers from the downtrodden town of Shadyside, but when horrors from their towns shared history come alive, they must band together to solve a terrifying mystery before it’s too late.

FEAR STREET Movie #3:

In 1666, a colonial town is gripped by a hysterical witch-hunt that has deadly consequences for centuries to come, and it’s up to teenagers in 1994 to try and finally put an end to their town’s curse, before it’s too late.

FEAR STREET will be a trilogy and the individual movies are set to eventually be released one after the other. What that means exactly has yet to be seen. Janiak (HONEYMOON) will direct all three flicks and oversaw a writer’s room for the trilogy – which is said to have included Phil Graziadei, Zak Olkewicz, Roberto Patino, and Kate Trefry (STRANGER THINGS) – and will ultimately be among the writers credited. Chernin Entertainment will produce the trilogy and 20th Century Fox exec Jason Young will oversee on behalf of the studio. We'll let you know when we hear more.
