Shell is a satirical horror film about the health industry coming to HBO Max

Deadline reports that HBO Max is developing a satirical horror film directed by Max Minghella (TEEN SPIRIT) from a spec script by Jack Stanley, who got two scripts on the Black List – POSSESSION: A LOVE STORY and SWEETHEART – as well as doing a rewrite on the Netflix film LOU. No one is clear what the film is actually about, though, as Deadline states the "logline for the script is under wraps", however

sources said it is a satirical horror tale with sci-fi elements, set in the health and beauty industry.

Sounds like it could be fun! There is definitely a lot of humor and horror you could mine from the craven health industries, and could be a good anti-corporate screed that horror does best, ala ALIEN, THEY LIVE, and THE STUFF – among many others.
