It seems as though the rumor that SAW VII would be in 3-D was finally confirmed today. On his Facebook page, David Hackl (director of the fifth installment) let loose this status update: “SAW VII 3D pre production begins TODAY!! I’m so cranked.”
He goes on to write: “The story is always the most important thing in my opinion. This time I want it to be a game for everyone. I want to create the effect of feeling like you are right in a trap.”
Yikes! Freaky proposition right there. But hell, I guess anything to spice up the franchise will be welcome. (Although Darren Lynn Bousman told us that VI is looking pretty sweet.) Screenwriters Marcus Dunston and Patrick Melton are once again penning the script; no cast has been announced yet, and probably won’t be until part VI has come out. (Safe to assume that Tobin Bell will return, yes?)
