Paramount’s new sequel to Scary Movie, with the return of the Wayans brothers, had a pretty big win at the box office and signaled that perhaps the franchise still has some strength to draw in audiences. This is especially impressive as the new entry attracted nearly as many ticket sales overseas as it did domestically, which was an aspect that analysts weren’t sure about.
So, now that Paramount has a new nostalgic franchise hit on their hands, there is news that the studio has remastered and will release the original Scary Movie from 2000 on an ultra-HD 4K Blu-ray.
Blu-ray.com has shared details on the physical media release, which is set to hit retailers in time for spooky season on September 22. The 4K home video set will also include a normal Blu-ray disc.
