As timing would have it, I just clocked Scott Spiegel’s 1989 slasher film INTRUDER for the first time the other day (as part of the annual 31 Days Of Horror marathon). Aside from all the cutaway kills, I for the most part was amused by the silly tone and occasional blood-splatter. If you haven’t seen the film, I would recommend giving it a look. And you know what? You can do just that on Blu-ray come this winter…

Synapse Films is releasing INTRUDER on DVD and Blu-ray December 13th. Perfect for the old stocking stuffer, wouldn’t you say? Of course, there’s already a DVD print that’s been in circulation since 2005, but here’s your chance to see the shite in high-def.

But before we give you the specs, peep the synopsis of the film: The overnight stock crew of a local supermarket find themselves being stalked and slashed by a mysterious maniac.

A supermarket slasher…gotta love it!

Here’s what you can expect from the new disc:

• Audio Commentary with Director Scott Spiegel and Producer Lawrence Bender

• “Slashed Prices: “The Making of INTRUDER” featurette, including interviews with Spiegel, Bender, the KNB EFX team, actors Bruce Campbell, Ted Raimi, Elizabeth Cox, Danny Hicks and others

• Never-before-seen extended murder sequences from the original workprint • Outtakes from NIGHT CREW short film

• Interview featurette with filmmaker/fan Vincent Pereira on INTRUDER and GOREZONE magazine

• Cast Audition Tapes

• Behind-the-Scenes Still Gallery • Original Theatrical Trailer
