Scream Factory announces scary huge slate of 2017 Blu-Rays

When you're a company like Scream Factory that has built its entire identity around retro horror classics, of course you're gonna celebrate Halloween in style. In true horrorhound fashion, the good folks at the distribution company have just announced a massive slate of 10 films that will they will etch in blood onto Blu-Ray in 2017. Here's the full list:

TALES FROM THE HOOD (1995), making its Blu-Ray debut:

A creepy mortician, Mr. Simms (Clarence Williams III), attempts to scare teenage drug dealer Stack (Joe Torry) and his friends straight by telling them four horrifying stories. One is about a guilt-riddled cop (Anthony Griffith) who goes crazy after ignoring his corrupt partner (Michael Massee). He also tells of a meek schoolboy (Brandon Hammond) with terrifying supernatural powers. Although the young thugs want to take their drugs and escape Mr. Simms, he still has two more tales to tell.

DEADTIME STORIES (1986):

Twisted tales include a medieval boy (Scott Valentine) with witches, a girl (Nicole Picard) in red with a werewolf, and a killer Goldilocks (Cathryn de Prume).

Stephen King's FIRESTARTER (1984), in a 2K Collector's Edition:

As youths, Andy McGee (David Keith) and his future wife, Vicky (Heather Locklear), participated in secret experiments, allowing themselves to be subjected to mysterious medical tests. Years later, the couple's daughter, Charlie (Drew Barrymore), begins to exhibit the ability of setting fires solely with her mind. This volatile talent makes the youngster extremely dangerous and soon she becomes a target for the enigmatic agency known as "The Shop."

DEMENTED (1980):

Released from a mental institution, a traumatized woman (Sallee Elyse) seeks revenge against her rapists.

WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH HELEN? (1971):

After their sons are convicted of homicide in a highly publicized trial, Midwesterners Adelle (Debbie Reynolds) and Helen (Shelley Winters) begin receiving threatening phone calls and decide to begin their lives anew in Hollywood, Calif. They open a dance school for young girls, and, while the business succeeds, their troubles continue. Helen becomes dangerously neurotic and increasingly clings to Adelle, who longs to marry the wealthy parent (Dennis Weaver) of one of her students.

THE SCREAMING SKULL (1958):

A man (John Hudson) tries to drive his second wife (Peggy Webber) mad at his dead first wife's Southern mansion.

PSYCHO (1998), making its Blu-Ray debut:

Hoping for a fresh start with her broke boyfriend, Marion (Anne Heche) steals a huge sum from her boss and skips town, eventually stopping at a remote motel. There, she's served by the intensely awkward yet docile Norman Bates (Vince Vaughn), whom she often hears arguing with his domineering mother. But later that night, Marion is brutally slain, and Norman finds and hides the body. When a detective and Marion's sister visit the motel to investigate, they uncover shocking truths.

THE VAGRANT (1992):

Successful professional Graham Krakowski (Bill Paxton) has just moved into his new home. He is also up for a promotion at work, and his girlfriend is flying into town to visit. However, when a vagrant (Marshall Bell) shows up at his house, his life suddenly changes for the worse. Small mind games quickly escalate, and Graham is framed for murder. As the vagrant lurks around his house and people continue to die, Graham feels as if he can no longer trust anyone, including himself.

THE ANGRY RED PLANET (1959):

Chief Warrant Officer Sam Jacobs (Jack Kruschen), Dr. Iris Ryan (Nora Hayden), Professor Theodore Gettell (Les Tremayne) and Col. Tom O'Bannion (Gerald Mohr) are astronauts aboard the spaceship MR-1, the first mission to Mars. Shortly after their rocket reaches the mysterious red planet, the band of brave space explorers discovers monstrous yet highly intelligent alien life forms, which first attack, then deliver a haunting word of warning intended for all mankind.

VIRUS (1999):

Caught in a typhoon, a tugboat commanded by Robert Everton (Donald Sutherland) comes across a mysterious near-deserted ship. Excited to find a vessel that could be sold for as much as $30 million, Everton and his crew board and prepare to move the craft, despite the warnings of sole survivor Nadia Vinogradiya (Joanna Pacula). When a malevolent alien presence begins killing off the crew, navigator Kit Foster (Jamie Lee Curtis) tries to convince the rest of them to leave before it's too late.
