Whoa, boy. This is one of the more exciting Blu-ray releases of the year, by far. Scream Factory will be releasing a special edition of MAD MAX on Blu-ray this May, only days before MAD MAX: FURY ROAD debuts, and they’ve just shared the cover art and some hints about what’s in store.

While they’re not ready to spill all the beans just yet, here’s what they’re giving us so far:

– The incredible newly-commissioned artwork you see here (from artist Paul Shipper) is final and approved. (Purists take note: The original theatrical poster image will be on the reverse.)

– Full list of extras are still forthcoming but an all-new exclusive interview with star Mel Gibson is one of them!

– U.S. & Canada Street date is May 5th. If you choose to order directly from Scream Factory, the item will be shipped two weeks early PLUS you’ll get a FREE limited edition 18” x 24” poster of the new cover art (while supplies last).

We’ll keep our eyes peeled for the final specs as we approach May, but it’s safe to say Scream Factory is once again doing very, very right by us.
