It's about that time for all things that are dead to get up start walking, as the fifth season of AMC's popular zombie sitcom The Walking Dead will start airing on October 12th. To whet your appetite for the mayhem that is set to come, AMC just dropped another trailer featuring the bulk of the cast and a whole heap of weapons.

Keep in mind that while season 5 is in full swing, development has already begun on a pilot for a proposed companion series to The Walking Dead. Details are scarce at this point, except for the fact that we'll get some glimpses at what's going on in other parts of the world. With the locales in The Walking Dead somewhat limited, it would be cool to see a story with a larger scope (a la WORLD WAR Z) to get an idea of just how f*cked the human race is.
