Seth Gordon has done various directing work in his career. From helming episodes of PARKS AND RECREATION and COMMUNITY to the documentary KING OF KONG to big directorial efforts like HORRIBLE BOSSES, Gordon is working his way up the ladder.

Gordon is attached to an interesting project inspired by David Bowie’s song “Space Oddity”. Disney has acquired the romantic comedy spec script from screenwriter Jason Micallef (BUTTER). The plot is being held up tight wraps so there are no signs as to how the song will connect with the film.

Bowie wrote “Space Oddity” after seeing 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY. Apparently he was quite high when he wrote it. Best time to write songs about space, I suppose. The song doesn’t have too many varied meanings, but several people have come up with their own theories. I take it straight forward: Major Tom goes into space to only lose touch with Earth. It’s a beautiful song, but fairly dark.
