Shannyn Sossamon has racked up a good amount of horror credits over the years, appearing in the films SINISTER 2, ONE MISSED CALL, GHOST LIGHT, THE DAY, CATACOMBS, and THE ORDER, and dealing with genre subject matter in the TV shows Moonlight, Sleepy Hollow, and Wayward Pines. Now she's adding another supernatural thriller to her filmography, as she will be starring in writer/director Chad Darnell's feature debut THE UNDERTAKER'S WIFE.
John Brotherton, Linc Hand, and Ashley Fink co-star with Sossamon in the film, which follows
a family’s attempted fresh start when they move into a historic funeral home in the Deep South.
The synopsis doesn't tell us much, but of course moving into a funeral home is a very bad idea in a horror movie.
David Brown is producing THE UNDERTAKER'S WIFE for Specter Pictures, the new genre label of his company Clear Horizon. Mandra Pictures is also producing, as is Todd Lundbohm of 828 Productions. 828 Media Capital is financing the project.
Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles and is scheduled to wrap this week. Clear Horizon is presenting worldwide rights to potential buyers at the European Film Market.
I have been a fan of Sossamon ever since she first showed up in A KNIGHT'S TALE and became even more of a fan thanks to THE RULES OF ATTRACTION the following year, so I'm always glad to see her working on horror.
