Sharknado 2 officially shatters SyFy viewership with nearly 4 million

In case you haven't heard by now, SHARKNADO 2 was a big f*cking deal!

Officially, the SyFy sequel netted a whopping 3.9 million viewers on Wednesday night, a figure that shattered the cable channel's viewership for an original film. To put that in proportion, the original SHARKNADO flick that took the internet by storm last summer, only drew 1.4 million on debut night (though it's encores drew significantly more). Yup, like a boss of a sequel should…THE SECOND ONE doubled its feeding!

If you want to get real wonky about the numbers, the coveted 18-49 demo accounted for 1.6 of the 3.9 million viewers last night. That alone eclipsed the total for the original, for which the same demo accounted for roughly 570K viewers. Suffice it to say, the swirling vortex of voracious sharks hit the damn bullseye!

Which, of course, means an inevitable SHARKNADO 3 (SyFy actually ordered one back in April). So, let's help them get a jump and start throwing around potential subtitles. I'll start. How about, SHARKNADO 3: F*CK YOU GLOBAL WARMING!
