Shook: trailer for social media horror movie comes online

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Shudder has uploaded a new trailer for their upcoming social media horror-thriller Shook, which you can watch at the top of the article. Below is the official synopsis:

When Mia, a social media star, becomes the target of an online terror campaign, she has to solve a series of tests to prevent people she cares about from getting murdered. But is it real? Or is it just a game at her expense?

Meanwhile, Shook – written and directed by Jennifer Harrington and starring Daisye Tutor, Emily Goss, Nicola Posener, Octavius J. Johnson, Stephanie Simbari, Grant Rosenmeyer, and real-life make-up and social media influencer Genelle Seldon – will premiere on Shudder sometime later this year!

Honestly, with how shitty the internet experience can be – especially for women – I think this is rife and furtile ground for horror stories. Hopefully filmmakers can keep finding unique ways to tell these stories, because I think they're worth being told.

But what do you guys think? And what's your worst social media experience? Either way, sound off below!
