Seems like Spain’s SITGES FILM FESTIVAL was another success, as it’s just wrapped up after 12 sunny days of genre film goodness. While parting is such sweet sorrow, some flicks are certainly leaving with big grins on their faces.

MOON obviously continues to impress audiences around the globe, making me all the more embarrassed that I still haven’t seen it. The sci-fi indie won for Best Screenplay (Nathan Parker), Actor (Sam Rockwell), and Picture, coming away from the fest as the top dog in all respects. The Arrow saw it while there, and dug it as well; read his review HERE.

Other big winners include the Filipino thriller KINATAY (winner for Best Director and Soundtrack); the TROLL 2 documentary BEST WORST MOVIE (Best Documentary); and Gasper Noé’s trippy fantasy ENTER THE VOID (Special Jury Award and Best Cinematography), starring the very sexy Paz de la Huerta (pictured below)… Even [REC] 2 won something called “The Ben and Jerry’s Award”. Hey, it’s better than going home empty handed!

For the full list of winners, head on over HERE! And keep an eye out for more from The Arrow, who will bringing us reviews and his thoughts on the fest soon!
