Sleepless (2001) Revisited – Horror Movie Review

We’ve done some rebranding on our JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel, so most of the shows we have on there now fall under the “Revisited” banner. The latest “Revisited” video to be released is an episode of the Best Foreign Horror Movies series and takes a look back at legendary genre filmmaker Dario Argento’s 2001 movie Sleepless. Check it out in the embed above!

Some genre fans may be surprised to see such a late entry in Argento’s filmography getting the Best Foreign Horror Movies treatment, especially so soon in the show’s run (this is the fourth episode), but watch the video and you’ll find out why it made the cut.

Scripted by Argento, Franco Ferrini, and Carlo Lucarelli, Sleepless shows us what happens when

an insomniac detective comes out of retirement to track a serial killer who copies a string of old murders.

The film stars Max von Sydow, Stefano Dionisi, Chiara Caselli, Gabriele Lavia, Rossella Falk, Paolo Maria Scalondro, Roberto Zibetti, Roberto Accornero, and Barbara Lerici.

The Best Foreign Horror Movies series is

dedicated to highlighting horror films from outside North American that carry lots of punch, bite, scares or/and stabs! Hop on and enjoy the horror ride around the world.

The Sleepless episode of the show was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Gonzalo Lopez, Produced by John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
