Seeing as how reviving his past characters has proven successful both critically and commercially, Sylvester Stallone has now decided to see if he can work his nostalgic magic on other people’s past characters. He’s looking to direct and star in a remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson starring revenge thriller DEATH WISH. In it, after a vicious assault on his family, a man decides to take justice into his own hands and prowls the night as a vigilante. Most recently, the Jodie Foster starring THE BRAVE ONE, understandably so, received many comparisons to the Michael Winner directed original, basically describing the film as DEATH WISH WITH A CHICK. TERMINATOR 3 and TERMINATOR 4 WITH THE STUPID TITLE writers Michael Ferris and John Brancato are onboard to write and if the current Strike of the Apocalypse resolves speedily (though not likely, not unless studio executive blood is spilled on a sacrificial altar), they’re hoping to start production before March.
