After reshooting the pilot episode and recasting a few of the project's primary roles, FX has placed a 10-episode series order for MAYANS MC, a spinoff of Kurt Sutter's biker crime drama SONS OF ANARCHY.

Set to premiere in 2018, the announcement of MAYANS MC comes by way of the Television Critics Association press tour. Co-created by Sutter and Elgin James, the spinoff show will serve as the next chapter of the SONS OF ANARCHY franchise, a long-running program that was once the highest-rated ongoing drama series in FX history. The Mayans were featured as a group of self-proclaimed brothers whose dealings with the Sons often lead to deadly consequences for both groups.

For the new series, MAYANS MC will be set in a post Jax Teller world, where EZ Reyes, fresh out of prison, is a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the Cali/Mexi border. Now EZ must carve out his new outlaw identity in a town where he once was the golden boy who had the American Dream within his grasp. With EZ feeling as if he has something to prove, things are bound to get violent before the Mayan hopeful can secure a place among his road-born brothers.

Edward James Olmos, JD Pardo, Sarah Bolger, Clayton Cardenas, Richard Cabral, Michael Irby, Raoul Trujillo, Antonio Jaramillo and Carla Baratta are all set to star in the new show, which is now set for a 2018 premiere.
