Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam set for del Toro’s Crimson Peak

Whomever this Charlie Hunnam guy is, he’s made quite an impression on Mr. Guillermo del Toro.

Such an impression in fact that del Toro has decided to recast the PACIFIC RIM star (seen right) in his follow up film, CRIMSON PEAK. As you know by now, Hunnam would join the super-sexy-funny Emma Stone (below), who signed up for the picture earlier this week.

As with the plotline, details on Hunnam’s role are next to nil. We do know the flick is gearing up for a February 2014 shoot, and in del Toro’s own words, will be “a very set-oriented, classical but at the same time modern take on the ghost story. It will allow del Toro to play with the conventions of the genre I know and love, and at the same time subvert the old rules.”

In a more recent statement, del Toro promised “CRIMSON PEAK is a gothic romance… It’s got a lot of darkness and sound and fury and drama and stormy; but at the core of it is a scary movie.”

So what do you say, will Emma and Charlie make a cute couple or what? My guess is the ghost whacks Hunnam in order to get close to Emma? Can’t blame the sucker, can you?

Expect more casting on CRIMSON PEAK to mount soon.

Romancing the Stone!
