According to Variety, Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has nabbed North American rights to Matthew Parkhill’s thriller THE CALLER, which we last told you about in November. Most of us had probably forgotten entirely about its existence, but this news brings it back to light.

In addition, we’ve scooped up a new still from the flick, showing lead Rachelle Lefevre (from the first two TWILIGHT films). Click on it to see a bigger version. (Sorry, it doesn’t get any more exciting after you click on it.)

The plot:
When troubled divorcee Mary Kee begins to receive mysterious phone calls from an unknown caller, she quickly begins to feel haunted in her own home. When she discovers that the person is calling from the past, Mary realizes that she will have to kill her in order to survive, but how do you kill someone living in the past, and what will happen if she fails?

Along with Lefevre, Stephen Moyer, Lorna Raver and Luis Guzman star in the film; no release date has been unveiled as of yet.
