Sony’s Monster Hunter film starring Milla Jovovich pushed back to 2021!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The upcoming feature film adaptation of Capcom's popular videogame series MONSTER HUNTER from Sony's Screen Gems starring Milla Jovovich (RESIDENT EVIL) and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (MORTAL KOMBAT) has moved form its original theatrical release date this September to April 23rd, 2021.

Now, this isn't too much of a surprise. With the rapid spreading of Covid in the US, and the uncertainty of theaters opening anytime soon, it makes sense to push it back when (theoretically) things have settled down. This follows a torrent of other major films pushing their release dates back for safety lately. Let's just hope that this will be far enough out to not lead to anymore delays.

Anyway, here's the film's official synopsis:

Behind our world, there is another: a world of dangerous and powerful monsters that rule their domain with deadly ferocity. When Lt. Artemis (Milla Jovovich) and her loyal soldiers are transported from our world to the new world, the unflappable lieutenant receives the shock of her life. In her desperate battle for survival against enormous enemies with incredible powers and unstoppable, revolting attacks, Artemis will team up with a mysterious man who has found a way to fight back

So what do you guys think? Fans of the original game? If so, what're your feelings about the movie so far? Either way, sound off below!
