The past year has been, well, it's been something. Typically we could count upon a show like South Park to take aim at the issues of the day and give it an over-the-top, bizarre comedic spin, but when you factor in COVID-19, lockdowns, Asian Murder Hornets, civil unrest, and a hell of a lot more, the lives we're actually living feel bizarre enough. That said, Trey Parker and Matt Stone's animated comedy will soon be returning with a special hour-long episode known as The Pandemic Special. You can check out a teaser below.
The new episode will find Randy Marsh coming to terms with "his role in the COVID-19 outbreak as the on-going pandemic presents continued challenges to the citizens of South Park. The kids happily head back to school but nothing resembles the normal that they once knew; not their teachers, not their homeroom, not even Eric Cartman."
The Pandemic Special will premiere on September 30th at 8pm ET on Comedy Central.
