Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Everly Carganilla, and Connor Esterson are headlining the Spy Kids reboot. The project hails from Skydance and Spyglass, with Spy Kids creator Robert Rodriguez directing, writing, and producing the next film in the series. The Spy Kids reboot will introduce the world to a new family of spies, with Max Racer co-writing the screenplay.

The next film in the Spy Kids franchise is set after the children of the world’s most extraordinary secret agents unwittingly help a powerful game developer unleash a computer virus that gives him control of all technology, leading them to become spies themselves to save their parents and the world.

David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger will produce for Skydance, which will oversee development and production. Elizabeth Avellan and Max will also produce. Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre will executive produce through Spyglass, with Nick Nesbit serving as Netflix’s creative lead on the movie.

Gina Rodriguez recently voiced Barbara Gordon for the first season of Spotify’s Batman Unburied podcast and is slated to appear in several film and television projects, including a live-action reboot of Carmen Sandiego.

Zachary Levi will star in Shazam! Fury of the Gods for DC Films. The long-awaited sequel to DC’s 2019 family-friendly comic book adventure also stars Rachel Zegler, Helen Mirren, Lucy Liu, Adam Brody, Meagan Good, Jack Dylan Grazer, Asher Angel, Grace Caroline Currey, and more. In addition to reprising his superhero role, Levi will star in Harold and the Purple CrayonStar Wars: DetoursChicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, and more.

Carganilla was most recently seen in The Afterparty, The Haunted Man, and The Chair. Meanwhile, Esterson is a newcomer, and Rodriguez’s Spy Kids reboot will be his first film.
