Production of STAR TREK BEYOND got underway in Vancouver last month but we haven't exactly been privy to too many glimpses of the film…until now. ScreenCrush has landed quite a few photos (in the attached video) from the set of STAR TREK BEYOND featuring Chris Pine's Captain Kirk, Simon Pegg's Scotty, Anton Yelchin's Chekov, and Sofia Boutella's all-new alien character emerging from what appears to be a crashed ship surrounded by a giant green-screen.
If you'd don't want to know what Sofia Boutella will look like, you might want to avoid the video, but the rest of you should definitely check it out!
After two films of rehashed plots and familiar aliens, I've got to say that I'm very much looking forward to seeing something new with STAR TREK BEYOND. Sofia Boutella's character looks fantastic and doesn't look to belong to any race we've seen before. Chris Pine and Anton Yelchin are wearing newly updated versions of the away team uniform (the Starfleet patch Justin Lin tweeted originates from these)and even the standard uniform worn by Simon Pegg seems to have undergone some changes, namely a higher collar and darker stripe down the sides.
STAR TREK BEYOND is set for a July 8, 2016 release.
