I have not seen Nelson McCormick’s THE STEPFATHER – mostly because it’s supposed to suck, which wasn’t exactly a shocking development. (The Arrow didn’t particularly like it, check out his review HERE.) It looked pretty dreadful – all except anything featuring Amber Heard (pictured), who apparently spends about half her screentime in a bikini… Hmm, can’t be all bad, can it?
Well, if we’re going strictly by the DVD artwork, then yes, it can. Sublime in its awfulness, this actually makes Ammon’s photoshop skills look flawless. I love the heads bundled together at the bottom of the stairs – is that really supposed to appear like the three of them are cowering there? I chuckle…
Anyway, THE STEPFATHER comes out on FEBRUARY 9th. It will have commentary with McCormick, Penn Badgley, and Dylan Walsh (I’m guessing thorough apologies are forthcoming); a making-of featurette; and a… gag reel. Yes, quite fitting.
