Stephen King's worst nightmares come to life in Castle Rock series trailer

It won't be long now before Hulu's CASTLE ROCK series arrives to haunt your dreams and send shivers down your subscription service. The upcoming program from J.J. Abrams is set to place a new spin on the Stephen King multiverse, and from what I can see from this trailer, it looks as if King fanatics are in for one hell of a treat.

A psychological-horror series set in the Stephen King multiverse, CASTLE ROCK combines the mythological scale and intimate character storytelling of King’s best-loved works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light, played out on a few square miles of Maine woodland. The fictional Maine town of Castle Rock has figured prominently in King’s literary career: Cujo, The Dark Half, IT and Needful Things, as well as novella The Body and numerous short stories such as Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption are either set there or contain references to Castle Rock. CASTLE ROCK is an original suspense/thriller — a first-of-its-kind reimagining that explores the themes and worlds uniting the entire King canon, while brushing up against some of his most iconic and beloved stories.

Whoa! Just out of curiosity, how many King references did you spot in this trailer alone? I might just have to bust out my old collection and start reading just so I can enjoy this show to its fullest.

Created by Sam Shaw (MASTERS OF SEX) and Dustin Thomason (LIE TO ME), CASTLE ROCK is set to be helmed by an ensemble of noteworthy directors and writers. Starring in the episodic monster mash are Andre Holland, Melanie Lynskey, Scott Glenn, Jane Levy, Terry O'Quinn, Bill Skarsgard, Sissy Spacek, Caleel Harris and Chosen Jacobs, among others.
