Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood in talks to join Frozen 2

FROZEN quickly became quite the phenomenon. After its release in 2013, it was hard to go anywhere or do anything without some aspect of the Disney flick making itself known, whether it was the award-winning "Let It Go" playing non-stop or the mountains of merchandise, FROZEN was everywhere. The film would go on to gross over $1.2 billion and Disney soon put a sequel into motion.

Variety reports that Sterling K. Brown and Evan Rachel Wood, fresh off their Emmy Award nominations for This is Us and Westworld, are in talks to join the cast of the FROZEN sequel. The nature of the roles, as well as the nature of the sequel's plot, are being kept tightly under wraps, so you're free to speculate. The outlet adds that Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, and Josh Gad have returned to reprise their roles of Elsa, Anna, and Olaf, respectively, but makes no mention of Jonathan Groff as Kristoff. Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck will be returning to direct the sequel, with Lee also penning the script, and Lee spoke about how they're approaching the sequel earlier this year.

I think I can say the number one thing we all held hands on, because we all signed back up again on that one is to not think of the Zeitgeist part of Frozen, because that's not how we made it in the first place. In fact, a lot of people didn't know if the world was interested in the story we had to tell, because it was a musical with two female leads. And we spent it from building character out, and from every inch of what they're struggling with. How can we push them? What are we feeling about them? And we're doing the same thing. I'm really excited about where it's going. I can't wait to share it. But we don't start production until the summer. It's still got its journey. It's still going.

FROZEN 2 will hit theaters on November 27, 2019.
