Stranger Things gets re-imagined as a legit ’80s-style anime

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Not long after the launch of Netflix's STRANGER THINGS Season 3, American animation studio Humouring the Fates has unleashed a gorgeous anime-style video that takes some of the show's most iconic moments and transforms them into an otaku's wet dream!

Now, because animated films, even short ones, take a fair amount of time to produce, the above video contains only scenes from the first two seasons of Netflix's smash-hit series. That's no matter though, as there are plenty of pulse-pounding moments to recreate, such as Steve's junkyard battle, Eleven's dominance over a Demogorgon, and Will's most unfortunate infection brought on by creatures hailing from the Upside Down. All of your favorite characters from the series are here in this video, and I'll tell you what, I'd watch the daylights out of a bonafide STRANGER THINGS anime. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if sometime down the line, after the series inevitably comes to a close, that options to develop an animated version of the show are legitimately explored.

Stranger Things, Netflix, anime

With over 40.7 millions accounts tuning into the show, STRANGER THINGS Season 3 has officially broken Netflix's four-day record, with 18.2 million viewers already having finished the eight-episode run. I personally watched the entire third season in one go on July 4th, and while I thought it was a bit slow to start, I's found that the back half of the season delivers some of the series' best moments to date.

In the days following the show's Season 3 release, STRANGER THINGS co-creator Matt Duffer told Entertainment Weekly that Season 4 is "going to open up a little bit," and could allow for the plot to be taken "outside of Hawkins." Considering both the emotional and mysterious events of the third season finale, I'd say that the show is sure to venture into new and dangerous territory.
