If it’s one thing we’ve learned about video game adaptations, it’s that they pretty much always suck. And not just Uwe Boll suck. Because others beside Herr Boll have tried and almost all have failed. And the ones that haven’t exactly failed, have done ok. With “ok” here being quite subjective. Which makes it all the more perplexing that not only are four studios – Universal, Paramount, New Regency and MGM – currently in a bidding war over a video game property but a video game property that’s still a full year away from being released. The game apparently involves a journey through the hell as it’s a modern interpretation of “Dante’s Inferno”, which is what it’s likely to be called. Well, maybe studios are hoping that this is the one that breaks the mold. Or maybe they’re just nuts. What do you guys think?
