I have no real idea who Ashley Greene is, but the marketing team behind SUMMER’S MOON seems to think it’s pretty important that she was in TWILIGHT. I guess other people will too; I mean, haven’t you noticed how SHARKBOY AND LAVA GIRL sales have gone through the roof because Taylor Lautner was in it? (No they haven’t.) I don’t remember Greene in TWILIGHT, but then again, I don’t remember TWILIGHT. Except for the baseball scene… That was really good…
You’ll notice that the poster says SUMMER’S BLOOD. Well, that was the flick’s original title. I’m guessing Lionsgate’s thinking is, if they inject the word MOON next to Ashley Greene’s mug, stupid teens will automatically think NEW MOON and will be powerless to stop themselves from renting or buying this turkey… Just call it a hunch.
Anyway, SUMMER’S MOON is about this: A family of serial killers stalk a young woman out to find the father she’s never known. Check out the trailer below; it looks like a cross between CAPTIVITY, MISERY and THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS. It has a slim chance of being better than CAPTIVITY… (But that’s only because eating week-old dog vomit is preferable to CAPTIVITY.)
Lionsgate will release the film on NOVEMBER 10th. (Ten days before NEW MOON comes out, oddly enough.)
