The final Supergirl trailer brings more explosive action, Lobo, and panic at the disco to DC Studios’ upcoming superhero film

We’re only a few weeks away from Kara Zor-El staggering into theaters with a hangover for her first solo feature, Supergirl, and I could not be more excited to watch her journey unfold on the silver screen! DC Studios released the final trailer for Supergirl on Wednesday, featuring the best look yet at Jason Momoa’s Lobo, lots of super-powered action, and a time-sensitive mission that decides the fate of a galaxy as well as one of cinema’s most beloved pups, Krypto.

In addition to the final Supergirl trailer, tickets for one of the summer’s hottest films are now on sale. If you act fast, you can take advantage of discounts for specific versions of the film through select retailers.

What’s Supergirl about?

Supergirl will be directed by Craig Gillespie and scripted by Ana Nogueira. The film takes inspiration from the comic series Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, written by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely. After her father is murdered and the one responsible is still out there, a young alien girl named Ruthye Marye Knoll seeks out Supergirl to help her on a vicious mission. She wants revenge, and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she’ll do it herself, whatever the cost.

What happens in the new Supergirl trailer?

In the final Supergirl trailer, Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) comes to grips with her sense of responsibility to help people across the cosmos, just like her cousin, Superman. While trying to drink away her pain after losing her planet and people, Kara stumbles across Ruthye Marye Knoll (Eve Ridley), a young girl whose father was killed by Krem of the Yellow Hills, a vile villain who leads a band of Brigands to ensure destruction across the galaxy. When Krem injures Kara’s faithful dog, Krypto, things get personal. With the help of Lobo (Jason Momoa), Kara vows to protect Ruthye while wiping Krem and his thugs off whatever planet they’re poisoning with their odious presence. As the trailer plays, we find Kara letting loose, learning valuable lessons, and coming to terms with her place in a world filled with evil intent.

Who stars in Supergirl?

Supergirl stars Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Emily Beechum as Alura, Jason Momoa as Lobo, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, and Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll.
