Superman & Lois: Jordan Elsass will not be returning for the third season of the CW show

Deadline reports that actor Jordan Elsass will not be returning for season three of the CW show Superman & Lois. Elsass plays Jonathan Kent, the son of Lois and Clark, played respectively by Elizabeth Tulloch and Tyler Hoechlin. Producers are currently looking to recast the role.

Sources say that Elsass did not report to work in Vancouver when the production had scheduled the cast to return. In a statement made by the show’s producer, Warner Bros TV, on Tuesday night, they addressed, “Jordan Elsass has notified the Studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for season three due to personal reasons. The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast.” There are also apparent conflicting reports on whether this is a result of Elass being let go or had left by his own choice.

The actor, nor his reps, have yet to make a statement. According to some sources, Elsass may have dropped out due to mental issues he’s been dealing with, of which the series producers had become aware.

Elsass is also known to have used an exception on his vaccination status for filming in Vancouver for the last season. Canada currently has a policy forbidding those who haven’t been vaccinated to enter the country, which currently plagued the tennis star, Novak Djokovic, as he refused to have a vaccination and was not permitted into the country. Additionally, Elsass had posted but immediately deleted a story on his Instagram in which he questioned whether or not vaccines work.

Jonathan Kent was well-received by fans of the show. In light of another DC news story of The Flash’s Ezra Miller dealing with severe mental issues, if that truly is the case with Elsass, then it is commendable he is taking his time to work out whatever he needs to even if it interferes with his career.
