The Flash: Ezra Miller finally breaks silence about behavior and willing to get professional help

As the on-going drama surrounding the upcoming DC film The Flash looked to be getting more complicated by the day, Ezra Miller has finally broken silence and has issued a statement and apology. It was recently reported that Warner Bros was considering three options for The Flash which features Miller as the main hero and in multiple-universe roles. The WB either would limit Ezra’s promotional appearances along with Miller seeking professional help, cut Miller out of promotion completely and recast the Flash character for future films, or just scrap the movie entirely.

It now looks as if Miller has decided to cooperate with Warners on the first option. A rep for Ezra has issued a statement from the Flash star to Variety saying,

Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment. I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life.”

This should bring a bit of relief to the studio. The Flash debacle is just one of the many issues plaguing WB/DC at the moment. After the news of Batgirl being cancelled and programming changes coming to HBOMax, fans of the DC comics property were not confident about the future of a number of projects involving characters from the universe.

Miller still has a lot of image rebuilding to do in the meantime. This year has been very troubling for the actor and the behavior exhibited has brought multiple arrests and a number of unfortunate victims of said behavior from Ezra. Warner Bros began to see The Flash star as a liability, especially since they also were unsure of Miller’s fate regarding the Fantastic Beasts franchise, which Miller also plays a part in. Famously, Johnny Depp was removed from the franchise due to the abuse claims by Amber Heard, but now even the actor who replaced him, Mads Mikkelsen, thinks Depp might be welcomed back to the franchise (if it even continues).

What do you think? Should Ezra Miller be given another chance?
