Superman & Lois Lane strike a pose in new image from Elseworlds crossover

The next big Arrowverse crossover will soon be upon us as the three-part Elseworlds series will be bringing together the casts of Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl. The crossover will find Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) traveling to Gotham City in order to confront John Deegan (Jeremy Davies), a doctor at the Arkham Asylum for the Criminally Insane who might just be crazier than the inmates he treats. Elseworlds will also be introducing two major DC characters to the Arrowverse for the first time, one of whom will be Lois Lane (Elizabeth Tulloch). A new Richard Donner-inspired photo from the Elseworlds crossover has been released which finds Lois striking a pose with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin). Check it out!

Tyler Hoechlin has portrayed Superman on Arrowverse shows several times over the past few years, but this will be the first time in which he'll be appearing alongside his significant other. While speaking with TV Insider, Hoechlin says that Clark and Lois "obviously have a very strong relationship that's been going like that for a while. It's deeper into the relationship, so there's that comfortability factor and they know each other so well. They really kind of have a life together."

As for the other new DC character who will be introduced during Elseworlds, that would be Kate Kane aka Batwoman. Played by Ruby Rose (THE MEG), Batwoman patrols the streets of Gotham as "a highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city's criminal resurgence. But don't call her a hero yet — in a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham's symbol of hope." Following Batwoman's introduction in Elseworlds, it's expected that Rose will take the lead in a Batwoman series of her own.

The Elseworlds crossover will begin on The Flash on December 9th, followed by Arrow on December 10th, and concluding on Supergirl on December 11th. Will you be watching?
