Don’t gorge yourself too much on HAPPY FEET because, in just a few months time. we’ll be faced with another CG penguin romp in the form of SURF’S UP, a movie that separates itself by being an animated mockumentary. Going on the premise that penguins invented surfing, the movie follows a film crew as they document the annual Penguin World Surfing Championship and the participation of an ambitious new contentestant who idolizes a famous surfing god named The Big Z. Head to the film’s newly launched official website and unwind to the velvety cadence of Mario Cantone, whose bird character from the movie stands over a map of the world and provides commentary on the areas he hopes to find surfing talents, places that of course include Jersey, the Grand Canyon, and Sheboygan, Missouri. You can also check out the movie’s trailer or, if that’s too much action for you, the Pen Gu Island webcam. SURF’S UP hits theaters on June 8th.
