Surrogates trailer

I’m not exactly sure what to make of SURROGATES. It’s got an intriguing, high-concept idea with a lot of potential, and yet it seems like it’s not doing a whole lot with it. Why go the standard murder-mystery route when you could do something really subversive and – dare I say it? – intellectual? There are so many possibilities… I guess the action looks sort of compelling, and Bruce Willis is rocking a really funky toupee, so we’ll have to live with that… Check out the trailer below and you’ll see what I mean. Then let us know what you think!

FBI agents (Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves. Fit, good-looking, and remotely controlled these machines ultimately assume their host’s roles. And when a series of murders occurs a quest for answers begins with the central question posed: in a world of masks, who is real and who can you trust?

SURROGATES stars Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames, Michael O’Toole and Rosamund Pike. It comes to us from Jonathon Mostow and writers Michael Ferris and John Brancato – the team that brought us TERMINATOR 3. Uh-Oh… It hits theaters on September 25th.
