Survey of Horror! Ginger Snaps, Carrie, Pet Sematary – (Scary Studies)

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

The final episode of our video series Scary Studies can be seen in the embed above, and this one is the equivalent of a "survey course" in college, which attempts to cover a lot of material in one large overview. The films discussed include Night of the Living Dead, Carrie, An American Werewolf in London, Poltergeist, Pet Sematary, and Ginger Snaps, as we

take a look at three broad lenses in which we can view a movie or text: Post-colonial, Gender, and Class Conflicts.

Written and narrated by Cody Meirick, director of the documentary about Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Scary Studies

aims to delve into the stories, the films, and the meanings behind the scary stories we tell ourselves.

Scary Studies is Produced by John Fallon and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
