Taissa Farmiga joins The Conjuring spinoff The Nun

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Ugh! There's something about undead religious figures that unnerves me right to my core. Be it a bloodstained clergymen, a pale faced, over-tired-looking nun, or a grouping of forlorn disciples from the pages of The Bible, I want nothing to do with it. That being said, New Line seems to take no issue with this manner of imagery seeing as they've announced that Taissa Farmiga will step into the role of the young nun for Corin Hardy's THE CONJURING spin-off film THE NUN. Personally, I think this bit of casting news is quite cool, especially when you do the familial math and discover that Taissa Farmiga is the sister of Vera Farmiga, who along with Patrick Wilson play the paranormal investigators who appear in the James Wan-directed thriller THE CONJURING.

If you have yet to learn of the plot for this upcoming frightfest, THE NUN centers on "a priest named Father Burke who is sent to Rome to investigate the mysterious death of a nun". THE NUN is the second spin-off of THE CONJURING after ANNABELLE, which already has a sequel entitled ANNABELLE: CREATION which is set to creep into theaters on August 11th, 2017.

Meanwhile, you can mark your calendars for July 13, 2018 as the day when THE NUN creeps from out of the shadows and into your local theater.

So what do you all think? Are you into THE CONJURING universe? Personally, I've never seen any of the films in the series. Should I seek them out? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.
