Tales From the Loop featurette explores the “film lover’s television show”

Amazon has a hell of a lot of money to throw around, and it certainly shows in their TV series. The streaming services' next show is Tales From the Loop, a science-fiction drama which was inspired by the paintings of Simon Stålenhag. The show will explore "the mind-bending adventures of the people who live above the Loop, a machine built to unlock and explore the mysteries of the universe – making things previously relegated to science fiction, possible. In this fantastical, mysterious town, poignant human tales are told that bare universal emotional experiences, while drawing on the intrigue of genre storytelling." Amazon Studios has released a featurette which discusses how the project brought Stålenhag's paintings to life, with director Jodie Foster going so far as to praise Tales From the Loop as the "film lover's television show." From what little we've seen, I'm certainly sold on the series.

Tales From the Loop has been created and written Nathaniel Halpern, who also executive produces along with Matt Reeves (THE BATMAN) and Mark Romanek (NEVER LET ME GO), the latter of whom also directed the pilot episode. The series stars Rebecca Hall as Loretta, a gifted physicist; Jonathan Pryce as Russ, the founder and leader of the Loop project; and Paul Schneider as Geroge, Russ' son.
