TCM goes urban

ShockTillYouDrop got a chance to sit down with Twisted Pictures honcho Mark Burg and pick his brain (literally?!) about the next chapter in THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE saga, which Twisted just acquired the rights to last week (it will be in 3D, natch). Among other things, the producer spoke a little about what the plot entails. Read on!

We’re coming up with the idea. It’s a ‘what if?’ It’s 35 years later, there’s a relative going back. Why is he going back? I don’t want to set it in a dusty town. How do we make it more urban but keep that feel. There will be some relatives, some new people. There’s still the subtext of are they eating these people? The whole idea of cannibalism, we’re bringing it back.”

Sounds like the Leatherface we know and love will be no more. (Unless the dude’s gonna be about 80 in the new flick.) I’m not sure how I feel about the whole “make it more urban” idea, but I guess we can only stare at the same dusty shacks so many times. As long as we’re not talking about LEATHERFACE IN DA HOOD, I’ll keep an open mind.

To read more from Burg, head on over to SHOCK.
