TDK a hit on Blu-ray

JoBloJoBlo

We kinda all knew this was going to happen but today Warner Bros. made it official – THE DARK KNIGHT is the best-selling Blu-ray disc of all time. After one week. The DARK KNIGHT Blu-ray sold over 1 million copies in the US in its first week of release and over 1.7 million worldwide. IRON MAN held the previous record of 400,000 in its first week. By contract, TDK sold 600,000 copies in its first day. So for all those who say that Blu-ray won’t last, these numbers seem to disagree. While it’s not on par with the 13 million standard DVDs of THE DARK KNIGHT that were sold, expect the number of Blu-ray discs moved in 2009 to increase with many picking up discounted Blu-ray players for the holidays this year. Warner Bros. also added that 300,000 people activated their digital copy of THE DARK KNIGHT that was included on the Special Editions. That copy is viewable on your PC (only in standard format, not HD) and allows you to watch THE DARK KNIGHT and surf for porn on the same screen. Nerd heaven.
