Teaser for Ridley Scott’s AMC series The Terror is filled with blood and ice

Based upon Dan Simmons' novel of the same name, which itself was inspired by true events, Ridley Scott's AMC series The Terror follows two ships, HMS Erebus and HMS Terror, as they depart England on a perilous voyage into uncharted territory to discover the Northwest Passage. However, the ships find themselves trapped in the ice and the frozen and isolated crew find themselves faced with treacherous conditions and limited resources as they're pushed to the brink of extinction. The above teaser for the upcoming ten-episode series may be short, but it quickly captures the chilling tone for what will hopefully be an excellent series. Now, I just need to find the time to watch it.

"The Terror captures a rare combination of fascinating history, complex and flawed characters, the inextinguishable human spirit and the horror and promise of an uncharted world," said executive producers and co-showrunners David Kajganich and Soo Hugh in a statement. "We are looking forward to bringing viewers into this world in March." You can check out a few first-look images for the series below, which stars Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies, and Ciarán Hinds.

The Terror will debut on AMC on March 26, 2018.
