The Adam Project is set to hit Netflix on March 11, 2022, but I was lucky enough to screen the film early on Tuesday which was followed by a Q&A with stars Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner, and Walter Scobell. While full reviews have to be held until closer to the film’s release, my early sentiments of the movie match early social media reactions that began rolling out last week when the Netflix project began its early screenings.

Per the film’s official logline, “A time-traveling pilot teams up with his younger self and his late father to come to terms with his past while saving the future.” In addition to Reynolds, Garner, and Scobell, the film also stars Mark Ruffalo, Catherine Keener, and Zoe Saldaña.

Ryan Reynolds has said of the film that “I haven’t personally done a movie that reflects my life the way THE ADAM PROJECT does.” This is easy to see as most of the early reactions, including my own, reflect just how surprisingly moving and personal the movie feels. In my social media response, I said, “The Adam Project is a throwback to the films I grew up watching. The film has plenty of heart, action, & laughs with Ryan Reynolds giving one of his best performances.” You can check out more of the early reactions to the film below!
