The Amazing Spider-man 2 trailer to debut December 5th

In just a week we will all finally get to see the trailer for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, possibly with the new RISE OF ELECTRO subtitle, in full HD glory. Fans at this year’s San Diego Comic Con got to see a glimpse of footage from the film minus some completed special effects. It remains to be seen how much has changed since that reel was shown and whether or not feedback from fans has altered the finished product.

What we do know is that THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 is going to continue the rebooted series along the conspiracy path that Peter Parker’s parents had knowledge of their son’s future and that may have led to their doom. Adding in a slew of new villains both for this film and future chapters, Marc Webb is banking that fans will react favorably to the darker tone of his film and come along for the ride in the sequel.

I am still not sold on Jamie Foxx as Electro or even Electro as the primary villain. I don’t even have to mention the fact that his powers somehow seem derived from electric eels if the Comic Con footage remains unchanged. The question will be whether or not this new universe will force all character powers to be from animal origins.

Either way, THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 has a great cast of actors including Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Sally Field, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Colm Feore, B.J. Novak, Chris Cooper, Dane DeHaan, Felicity Jones, and Sarah Gadon. It will hit theaters on May 2, 2014.
