The Batman: What Did You Think?

Well folks, Matt Reeves’ The Batman is finally in theaters. We’ve been hyping this up pretty much non-stop ever since that first trailer dropped at DC FanDome way back in the summer of 2020. Our man JimmyO saw it early and gave it a total rave, giving it a 10/10. I was a bit cooler in my reaction to the film, giving it an 8/10, although it must be said that’s still a very positive score, all things considered. One thing worth noting is that the choice of Robert Pattinson to play the part is similar in a lot of ways as to when Daniel Craig was chosen to play James Bond. He wasn’t anyone’s idea of who should be James Bond at the time, but fifteen years later, it’s impossible to think of anyone else doing the role as well. Will we think of Pattinson’s tenure as Batman the same way further down the road?

One thing’s for sure, this is among the most critically acclaimed Batman movies ever, with it earning a terrific 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. But, what we’re interested in here at JoBlo is what you all think of Reeves’ radical new take on the character. So, in the comments below (which I’m going to issue a big SPOILER WARNING for), make sure to tell us what you thought of Pattinson, as well as Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano’s Riddler, Colin Farrell’s Penguin, the score by Michael Giacchino and more. Hopefully, the success of The Batman will help reignite the box office somewhat, with the industry still recovering from COVID-19. This is also Warner Bros’ first theatrical movie since Tenet, so hopefully, people will support it!
