The Beekeeper red band trailer: Jason Statham puts the sting on corruption in David Ayer’s new action thrill ride

The internet is abuzz with anticipation for David Ayer’s (Suicide SquadBright) forthcoming action film The Beekeeper. MGM debuted a red band trailer for the hard-hitting thrill ride on Wednesday, featuring Jason Statham as an elite ass-kicking machine with an axe to grind.

In The Beekeeper, one man’s brutal campaign for vengeance takes on national stakes after he is revealed to be a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as “Beekeepers.” Ayer directs from a script by Kurt Wimmer (EquilibriumLaw Abiding CitizenPoint Break). While Statham is the star of the show, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, Phylicia Rashad, and Jeremy Irons complete the primary cast.

In The Beekeeper trailer, Statham’s Mr. Clay lives a tranquil life as a beekeeper on a picturesque plot of land. However, when a shadowy organization swindles the kind landowner out of her savings, Clay trades the serenity of farm life for vengeance to honor his friend’s memory and stop a group that preys on unsuspecting victims. While working his way to the operation’s top brass, Clay carves through sniveling tech bros, rough-and-tumble security agents, and fat cats looking to phish innocent people out of their earnings.

The Beekeeper red band trailer highlights the film’s explosive exploits, Statham’s lightning-quick combat moves, action-hero one-liners, and brutality that’s as entertaining as it is impossible. Did you see Clay strap that whining suit to a truck and let it go? Classic!

The Bee Keeper explores universal themes with an unconventional story that will have fans sitting on the edge of their seats. We’re excited to bring another iconic and irresistible film to audiences around the globe,” said Miramax CEO Bill Block about the film in 2021.

Bill Block, Jason Statham, David Ayer, Chris Long, and Kurt Wimmer produce, with Andrew Golov, Thom Zadra, and Mark Birmingham executive producing. The Beekeeper is rated R for strong violence throughout, pervasive language, some sexual references, and drug use.

What do you think about The Beekeeper red band trailer? Do you think any of the goons featured in the preview stand a chance against Statham? What do you think of the Nine Inch Nails remix of “Head Like a Hole” featured in the promo?

The Beekeeper buzzes into theaters on January 12, 2024.
