Boba Fett finally returned in the second season of The Mandalorian but we haven’t seen the last of the iconic bounty hunter, not by a long shot. Temuera Morrison will be starring in The Book of Boba Fett, a new Star Wars series that will debut on Disney+ next month. Empire has unveiled a new cover for their upcoming January issue that puts Boba Fett front and center.

According to Empire, the feature will include new images from the upcoming series as well as interviews with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Robert Rodriguez, as well as Lucasfilm honcho Kathleen Kennedy, and series stars Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen.

Temuera Morrison has previously teased that the series will dive into Fett’s past and where he’s been since the last time we saw him in the original Star Wars trilogy. “We’re going to see his past and where he’s been since The Empire Strikes Back,” Morrison said. “Somebody pointed out he’s been kind of stuck in this one place, and now’s the time to actually go back in time and check out his journey and find out more about him.” I’m excited to see how the series will expand Fett’s story, and thankfully, we only have a little over a month to wait.

The official synopsis for The Book of Boba Fett:

The Book of Boba Fett, a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

The Book of Boba Fett will debut on Disney+ on December 29, 2021.
